The M.W. Technologies ATI
1000 is an automatic machine to inspect the entire surface of plain or coated tablets,
caplets, hard gelatin capsules, and two-piece capsules.
The products are fed from the product hopper to a centrifugal orientation system. At a
transfer point the products are conveyed on either a single vacuum transfer belt and/or a
double transfer feed belt for applications with many variations of shapes and sizes. Both
feed systems guarantee that product of various shapes and capsules are always presented to
the cameras in a reproducible position. Cameras are positioned to inspect both sides of
the product simultaneously. Acceptable product is typically blown off while rejected
product is conveyed to a discharge chute. This safety feature ensures that no rejected
product ever getting mixed. It also protects good in the event of a vision system or
sensor failure by rejecting all products.
